STUDENTS AGES 7 - 18:

The Sacraments of First Confession, First Eucharist and/or Confirmation at Our Lady of Angels Catholic Church are a two-year process for students under the age of 18. Each student must complete a two CONSECUTIVE year course for these Sacraments.   Click here for more information on specific Sacraments.

All of the Sacrament Classes are designed in an online format. Students will work on their materials at home, completing assignments to turn in each month. Additional resources to assist parents with their student's education will also be linked on their Class page, which can be found in the Sacraments and Catechesis menu.

Second year students have additional requirements, such as an additional monthly class, memorization of prayers, and Mass attendance, that must also be completed before receiving their Sacraments, a list of which will be provided at the beginning of their class year.

Students receive their Sacraments at the scheduled Sacrament Masses.  For First Communion, the Mass is generally the first Saturday of May.  For Confirmation, the Mass is generally the April weekend following Easter.

All students and parents are welcomed and encouraged to call the Office if they ever find they are in need of additional support or materials, 541-567-5812.

ADULTS 18 AND OLDER:

For adults who have decided to receive the Sacraments of First Eucharist and/or Confirmation, it is a one-year process. Adults looking to recieve those Sacraments will begin a course of weekly in-person classes beginning in September/October. For those in special circumstances, accomodations can be made if discussed in advance. Adults receive their Sacraments at the scheduled Sacrament Masses, the Masses are generally the April weekend following Easter.

Adults must be in a state of Grace in order to receive Sacraments, which means a person must be living a life in accordance with the moral laws of the Church. Eligible candidates must be either living a moral, Single life, or in a valid blessed or Sacramental Marriage.

For those adults living in any intimate relationship that is not a valid, blessed or Sacramental Marriage, we strongly encourage you to make an appointment with one of our Priests to begin the journey to bring your relationship back into full communion with the Christ and the Church. During that process, you are also prepared to receive any additional Sacraments you need.
